1) 豊平峡ダム Hoheikyo Dam.
Houheikyo is a valley found in the upper reaches of the Toyohira river, in the northern area of the Shikotsu Toya National park, southern-west to the Sapporo city. This area is abundant with beautiful view as Hoheikyo Dam is surrounded by the natural scenery of blue lake and green mountains.

The views are especially beautiful during the autumn, when leaves are turning red and yellow, awarding this Dam as one of the top 100 Waterside Forests, and top 100 lake Dams awarded by the Forestry Agence, hence, the Hoheikyo Dam becomes one of the Sapporo's popular spots although it is a bit far from the Sapporo city.

The Hoheikyo Dam first built in the year of 1967, then the task was completed as a multipurpose dam in 1972 (Showa47) October. The Dam appears to guard the Sapporo city against the flood disaster, generates power, and storing water during winter and spring.

The 2km tunnel between the Dam entrance and the Dam is a designated environmental protection area and no vehicles, or bicycles are allowed in it. The dam can be accessed on foot or electric bus. Steep rock slopes encircle the dam, creating  a picturesque sight.

The Hoheikyo Dam is only open during Summer months and Autumn and there is no bus or train direct to the Hoheikyo Dam. However, there are shuttle bus direct to the Dam from Jozankei Kanko AnnaiJo, and the ticket could only purchase on the day start from 9am.

9) 中央卸売市場 場外市場 Central Wholesale Market&curb market.

Every day, fresh marine items and farming products of Hokkaido are purchased in from the Sapporo Central Wholesale Market, and the curb market offer them(product) at a shabby cost, with respect to the Sapporo crab showcase, around 60 stores are firmly situated in 2lines. The salesclerk is offering vis-à-vis bringing charming correspondence with a guest although some of them don't communicate in English, however, they will welcome everybody at any time.

A king crab, a furry crab, a potato, and so forth are brimming with the flavorful sustenances of Hokkaido in a store. It turns into the memories of a travel and they are the best for a present. In any case, I don't purchase many things around here, in light of the fact that whatever I can see are fresh things, they might be too difficult to mail back to my nation. In any case, I enjoyed some kaisen don around here and got some crab back to my inn and cook me a supper.

The Curb Market, which opens at 6AM, is included roughly 60 stores offering various of products ranging from natural products to fresh and dried fish. It additionally offers sushi and different eateries serving reasonably priced dishes made with fresh seasonal ingredients from the market. Items are made accessible at the Curb Market as soon as the bidding ends at the Wholesale Market.

I recommend you getting there early to have a look at the bidding process in the wholesale market and infuse yourself with the professional environment, then eating lunch there before leaving.

10) 狸小路商店街Tanukikoji mall.

Another most loved place for me during my visit to Sapporo. I could let you know that I nearly drop by here every day during my stay in Sapporo since I stayed in the Khaosan Sapporo Inn, which is only alongside the number seventh Tanuki street. an easy place to find dinner and supper with reasonable price.

Tanukikoji is a shopping arcade that has been in operation since the frontier time frame which is a roughly 1km-long arcade with around 200 shops that runs east to west in downtown Sapporo. The roofed arcade begins at Nishi-1-chome and ends at Nishi-7-chome. It can be used regardless of the weather and It's an extraordinary place to purchase Hokkaido souvenirs!
Tanuki means a raccoon dog in Japanese. Koji means a narrow road. No one knows why this shopping arcade is named as 'Tanukikoji'. It is assumed that there were some raccoon puppies here, so that the street is named for this animal.

Another story is that the Tanukikoji is so near to the Susukino, where there had been some touting-men or whores standing each night, that is the reason individuals called them as 'Tanuki'. As indicated by a Japanese antiquated custom, Tanuki is an animal can transform itself into a human shape or different figure, for example, a teapot. The old folktale 'Bunbuku Chagama' is the narrative of Tanuki's making joke with people.

When you stroll in Tanukukoji road, you are going to see some road artist or entertainers, particularly in the evening, so clamor like you are feeling that you turn into a neighborhood Hokkaido as of now.

Old buildings with Sakura.
Everything in the town is an exhibit. The exhibits give looks of the good old days in Hokkaido, and of the insight and diligent work of our forefathers. The town is separated into four areas: city zone, farm village, fishing village, and mountain village. When you venture into the town, you'll feel as though you're in Hokkaido of a hundred years back.

Horse-drawn trolley.
The primary entrance to the village is the old Sapporo Station building. After entering the town, you will be in an environment typical of the wilderness time of Hokkaido(mid 19th to mid-twentieth century).

The whole garden is well taken care of and after a long day of walking through the purple colored flowers, you can buy essential oils produced here for a reasonable price as well.

The lavender garden is only open for about 20 to 25 days annually during the mid of July to the early of August, the garden will close for the rest of the day but the car park observatory is only close during winter. That is why the Horomitoge Lavender Garden earn the name of rare gem of Sapporo. You may try the lavender field in Furano as well.

The view from Horomitoge is very beautiful that many of young couples come here especially midnight. The Horomitoge car park observatory open until 1:30am.(closed 2:00am) Offering you a chance to see a fantastic night view of Sapporo city and the scene is a certified Japan night view heritage, carrying your camera during your visit to the garden is not simply, but is a must!

It is not because this scenic spot isn't good, it is just rare and hard to come by. I hardly could find this place in the travel information center, maybe I just miss the garden opening date. The official website I found regarding this lavender garden is only available in Japanese, so, I hope this article may help.

29) 札幌ファックトリ Sapporo Factory.
A famous shopping center situated in a previous industrial factory within walking distance from Sapporo Brewery. A decent place to purchase keepsakes.
Outside Sapporo Factory.

Sapporo Factory is a business complex including 160 stores and facilities, set up in the historic site where beer was initially brewed by Japanese. Have a superb time in this dynamic shopping arcade, where every season brings new enjoyments.

The Atrium.
The building is divided into seven regions. What gives it the character is the "Atrium", which is like a massive greenhouse. This symbolic zone of Sapporo Factory is showered with sunlight coming through the gigantic glass rooftop and loaded with greenery and seasonal flowers year round. The Atrium highlights an event stage and roundabout pathways that circumvent every building.

30) エスタ大食品街 Esta the grand food court (The gluttony street).
Esta sushi section
Alright, here we are in 30, the last place I am going to share during my visit to Sapporo.  I accidentally come to this place when I am strolling in the underground street of JR tower. The sign board is just a common sign board like anyone you can see in the train station, but the words attracted me.

I walked deep into the walkway after the signboard, then I discover few rows of food stores lie both side of my left and right such as PapaBeard, then I happen to be in a white clean market which is sale only food! I found all the Hokkaido foods here, with this single food court I could try every food in Japan. They are more than 100 types of food to choose, from lunch, cake, drinks, side dish, lunch, bakery, dessert, and also packed Hokkaido food souvenir.

How many types of Onigiri you have tried?
This place is so packed if you visit around 5pm resulted by the folks who are just free from their works, and also the weekend, so bustle and crowded. I visit this place almost every day to look for my dinner, the price of the food here is common but the good thing is I could buy a little portion from a few vendor, combine it and make a luxury dinner. They offer a discount if you buy more.
The ice cream never melt.
